Return of the Top Tier Arch-Rivalry of Manchester United & Leeds United
The rivalry of Manchester United & Leeds United kick-started with the opening week of the 2021-22 Premier League season last Saturday, 14 th of August at Old Trafford with 72,732 attendance. With the magic of Pogba and Bruno red devils won the game comfortably 5-1. This rivalry originated from the strong enmity between the historic counties of Lancashire & Yorkshire, back in the wars of the roses of the 15 th century. Context to this, rivalry nicknamed Roses rivalry or the Pennines derby. Two teams battling from the 20 th of January 1923 to the present day. Leeds United returned to the top flight 2020-21 season after their longest period outside of Premier League, 16 years between 2004-2020. Since the return, Marcelo Bielsa's men played aggressive attacking football throughout the 2020-21 season which they were hard to beat in Elland Road.
